TRIU WWE Night of Champions PPV Review...

Toyota Center in Houston, TX WWE Night of Champions…

As I sat down to watch the most recent installment in the Night of Champions series of WWE PPV’s. In this year’s installment we had several matches that I wanted to see. Both of the Rollins matches intrigued me because I knew that he had to lose one of the titles. I figured that it would be the US Title because I just don’t think that Rollins time is quite up as WWE WHC. Overall the cad impressed me with almost every title changing hands except the WWE WHC and the Tag Team Titles which were retained by the New Day over the Dudley Boyz by DQ. So lets get to the results…

1.       Singles Match: Kevin Owens vs. © Ryback (IC Title Match)(Winner: © K.Owens via Pin Fall): As th opening match of the PPV this match delivered. Both Owens and Ryback are great athletes and it showed in this match. In the end Ryback went for shell shocked and was raked in the eyes so that Owens could get the 1,2,3 and the IC Title…

2.       Singles Match: Rusev w/Summer Rea vs. Dolph Ziggler (Grudge Match) (Winner: D.Ziggler via Pin Fall): This match was pretty good, but then again what match involving Dolph Ziggler haven’t been recently. The feud that went along with this match seems to be continuing as the finish saw Summer throw her shoe at Rusev distracting him enough for Dolph to hit the Zig Zag and get the win…

3.       Tag Team Match: Dudley Boyz vs. New Day (Tag Team Title Match) (Winner: Dudley Boyz via DQ): This was the one surprise match of the PPV, both teams had their moments. In true heel fashion New Day picked up the victory over the Boyz from Brooklyn by having Xavier Woods interfere and get them disqualified to keep the titles but take the loss. This feud is far from over…

4.       Singles Match: Charlotte vs. © Nikki Bella (Diva’s Title Match)(Winner: © Charlotte via Sub): In a high spot for the Diva’s Charlotte wins the Diva’s Title for the 1st time in her WWE Career. This match was MON material and these ladies really impressed me. I cant say that I wasn’t happy though to see the belt taken off of Nikki Bella who had held it for the past 301 days. At the end Charlotte overcame odds and got Nikki to submit to the Figure 8 to win the Diva’s championship…

5.       Six Man Tag Match: The Wyatt Family vs. Reigns, Ambrose and Chris Jericho (Grudge Match)(Winner: The Wyatt Family via Sub): This match we kinda figured would be the one to steal the show. But they started out with a dud as the surprise entrant to come help Reigns and Ambrose was Chris Jericho. In the end Jericho seemed back to his old selfish self as he tagged himself in only to lose the match and shoulder check Ambrose on the way out the ring…

6.       Singles Match: John Cena vs. © Seth Rollins (US Title Match)(Winner: © J.Cena via Pin Fall): As the Co Main Event this match delivered in every way possible. Cena was himself as he kicked out at 2 more times that I could count. At the end of the day these two put on one hell of a show. In the end Cena was finally able to hit Rollins with the AA and get the win for his 5 US Title win in his career…

7.       Singles Match: Sting vs. © Seth Rollins (WWE WHC Match)(Winner: © S.Rollins via Pin Fall): The final match of the night saw the Icon Sting come out to a favorable situation as Cena had beten the champ and then AA’d him outside the ring and leaving him for Sting to play with. Sting unfortunately allowed the champ to get back into the match and at the end of the Day Rollins got the rollup victory over Sting to retain the title. After the match Sheamus came out to cash in MiTB when he was interrupted by a returning Kane looking for revenge on the Champ. Kane slammed them both and left the ring with a clear message sent…

Overall Rating for the PPV: A Good to watch not many surprises in the fineshes…
