TRIU: WWE Money in the Bank Review (6/14/15)…

Columbus, OH (June 14th, 2015)

We open up with a 10 ring salute for the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, who died earlier this week. They then show a promo highlighting all the top matches for tonight’s PPV.  It looks like the PPV is starting with the Money in the Bank ladder match. Out 1st is the Viper Randy Orton…

Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Randy Orton vs, Neville vs. Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns vs. Kane vs. Dolph Ziggler vs Kofi Kingston (Winner: Sheamus): This was a fun match to watch as every one of the superstars had their moments. The key moment of the match outside of Sheamus winning the briefcase was the feud that spawned between Roman Regins and Brey Wyatt as Wyatt attacked Reigns right as he was going to climb the ladder and win the breifcase. Overall it was a great match and I can wait to see what’s next…

As we go backstage we see Paige cutting a promo about her Divas title match tonight and how she wants to destroy the Bella Twins. Up next we have the Diva’s Title match between Nikki Bella and Paige…

Diva’s Title Match: © Nikki Bella vs. Paige (Winner: © Nikki Bella via pinfall): This was a good match between two Diva’ sthat have skill inside the ring. In the end this wasn’t what it could have been. I only say that because I wanted Paige to win and she doesn’t. In the end the Bellas do some twin magic and fool the referee. This time Paige gets the pin and wins the title, then Brie reveals herself as the one who got pinned. The match continues as Nikki hits Paige with the rack attack and keeps the title…

They show a couple of commercials for shows on the wwe network. When we come back the Miz comes out to ringside and cuts a promo before sitting at ringside for the next match. Up next we have the IC Title match between Ryback and Big Show…

IC Title Match: © Ryback vs. Big Show (Winner: Big Show via DQ): In what turned out to be a pretty good match. Ryback and Big Show battled hard and beat the snot out of each other. They even thwarted an attempt by the Miz to get involved. In the end the Miz interferes after being tossed aside and attacks the Big Show and then Ryback. The final result was Big Show winning by DQ but Ryback keeping the belt…

After a couple of more commercials for WWE Network shows, they show a promo video for the upcoming Cena vs. Owens rematch from the Payback PPV. So I guess, up next is the Cena vs Owens, champ vs. champ match. Out first is NXT Champ Kevin Owens…

Singles, Grudge Match: © Kevin Owens vs. © John Cena (Winner: Cena via Pinfall): This match wasn’t just a match of the night contender. In my opinion it was the match of the night. For round 2 they gave us everything we could ask for and more. Finally after a couple of AA’s and Cena taking a few big moves from Owens, Cena hits one final AA and gets the 1,2,3. After the match Cena attempts to raise Owens hand in respect and he gets attacked and laid out by Owens…

First a quick commercial for Total Diva’s and then we get a promo from Dean Ambrose on his ladder match for the WWE Title with Seth Rollins tonight. We then hear the announcers talk about the death of Dusty Rhodes. Setting up the video that they play honoring Mr Rhodes. Up Next is the Tag Team title match featuring New Day against Prime Time Players…

Tag Team Title Match: © New Day vs. Prime Time Players (Winner: PTP via Pinfall): This match was a classic tag team match between 2 veteran teams. There were several points in which it looked like New Day was going to pull it off without Kofi at ringside. In the end Titus hits Woods with the spike spinning power bomb and gets the pin for the PTP and the Tag Team championships…

We now go to the pre show panel who all give their thoughts on the new Tag Team champs, and the Cena/Owens match. The announcers take a look at the events of the MiTB match and announce that Reigns will face Wyatt at Battle Ground. We get a extended promo for the main event and then we get Seth Rollins being wished good luck by the Authority backstage. Up next we have the Ladder Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose…

WWE Title Ladder Match: © Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose (Winner: Rollins): This was another classic match between these two. Rollins took a beating and Ambrose enjoyed every minute of it. Both men could hardly walk after it was over but if I had my vote this would be right up there for match of the night. In the end both men climbed the ladder and grabbed the belt, they both fell off the ladder and only Rollins held on to take the win and retain his championship…

Overall Rating: A- Not the ending I wanted but a great set of matches…
