TRIU: WWE Extreme Rules (04/26/15) PPV Review…

                                                                                                   This is expected to be one of the hottest cards in awhile for the WWE. Extreme Rules is to be headlined by Rollins vs Orton in a Steel Cage!! That alone is worth the price of admission; we also get to start out with a Chicago Street Fight between Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper…


Singles Match (Chicago Street Fight) Dean Ambrose vs Luke Harper (Winner: No contest) – These two begin going at It before Harper even hits the ring. These two beat the hell out of each other and use everything within reach. They battle inside and out the ring until they both climb into a car and drive off out of the arena…

                                                                                              We now go backstage where HHH tells Kane to find Ambrose & Harper before they get sued. Enter Rollins to complain about Kane throwing him into a spear. They start arguing and HHH intervenes and calms things down. Kane then assures HHH and Rollins he will do whats best for business. Next up we have the Kiss My Arse match, Dolph Ziggler against Sheamus…

                       

Singles Match (Loser must kiss winners Arse) Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus (Winner: Dolph Ziggler by Pinfall) – This was brutal match that was dominated by Sheamus. He beat Ziggler around the ring and exchanged some serious shots. In the end Ziggler wins with the most devastating finisher in wrestling…the roll up!! After the match Sheamus tried to avoid kissing Zigglers arse, in the end he got down and pretended to be willing to do it before hitting him with a crotch shot and a brogue kick. Sheamus then makes Ziggler kiss his arse…

                                                                                            After a video promo for the upcoming shows on the network this week, next up Is the Tag Team championship match between New Day and Kidd & Cesaro…


Tag Team Match (Tag Team title match) The New Day vs © Kidd & Cesaro (Winner: The New Day by Pinfall) – This was a classic tag match with a lot of back and forth between the teams. In the end a distraction by Natasha slapping Xavier Woods, This allowed Kofi to roll up Cesaro and get the win and the tag team championships for the 1st time…

                                                                                           We now cut to the panel and they are discussing the new tag champs and they discuss the fact that Daniel Bryan was unable to compete. This forced Barrett to face off with Neville on the Pre Show match. We now have a backstage promo with the NEW tag team champs The New Day!!.  They are interrupted by a returning Harper and Ambrose…


Singles Match (Chicago Street Fight Cont…) Dean Ambrose vs Luke Harper (Winner: Dean Ambrose) – The match continues out into the ring where both Harper and Ambrose begin to attack each other with chairs and whatever else they could find. In the end Ambrose hits Harper with Dirty Deeds on some chairs to get the pin and the win…

                                                                                                       We now see a replay of Cena winning the US Title at WM31 and the ensuing John Cena US Title Open challenge. So the next match has to be the Russian Chain Match between © John Cena and Rusev…


Singles Match (Russian Chain Match for the US Title) © John Cena vs Rusev (Winner: © John Cena) – Both Cena and Rusev come out to mixed reaction. The match itself was pretty good both guys beat the snot out of each other using the chain and you had several suspenseful moments where it looked as if Rusev was going to gain his revenge!! In the end Cena was able to hold Rusev off long enough to hit him with the AA and touch the 4th corner for the win…

                                                                                                   We now go to a couple of commercials advertising things on the Network this week. We come back to a backstage interview with Roman Reigns. He talks about how the Big Show has tortured him in recent weeks and he has survived. He said he will be the last man standing. Next up is the Diva’s title match between Naomi and Nikki Bella…


Singles Match (Diva’s Title Match) ©Nikki Bella w/Brie Bella vs. Naomi (Winner: ©Nikki Bella via Pinfall) – Both Diva’s had some great moments in this match. At several times I thought that Naomi was really going to win the title!! In the end it took 2 Bella’s to beat 1 Naomi, Brie kicks Naomi in the head allowing Nikki to hit her with the Rack attack and get the win…

                                                                                                We now go to a backstage segment where Rusev is yelling at Lana and sends her into HHH’s office to get him a rematch. Then we get a promo package about the rivalry between Big Show and Roman Reigns over the past few weeks. Next up is the Last Man standing match between Roman Reigns and the Big Show…


Singles Match (Last Man Standing) Big Show vs. Roman Reigns (Winner: Roman Reigns via 10 counts) – This was another brutal match as both men beat the hell out of each other. Of course the match was dominated by Show for the most part. Reigns had his moments when he made a comeback but couldn’t keep the giant down. In the end he had to spear Show onto a announce table and flip another announce table onto him to get the 10 count on the world’s largest athlete…

                                                                                                    We now have a backstage segment between Kane and Randy Orton as they discuss Kane’s roll in tonight’s main event. WWE then runs a spot showing some of the recent entries for this year’s Tough Enough. We go in ring and get Bo Dallas in ring talking to the Chicago crowd and telling them to Bolieve. That is until he is joined by Ryback who squashes Dallas and celebrates with the crowd…We return from commercial and Rusev is complaining and Lana announces that Rusev will face Cena at Payback in a I Quit Match. Next up is our Steel Cage Match with no RKO as Seth Rollins and Randy Orton face off for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship…


Singles Match (Steel Cage Match, RKO is banned) © Seth Rollins vs Randy Orton (Winner: © Seth Rollins via Cage Escape) – In a main event for the ages these two went at it with Randy having the upper hand through most of the match. J&J attempted to interfere and they are stopped by Kane. Kane then stops Orton from getting out the ring and allows Rollins to get the advantage. In the end Kane snaps and hits Randy with a choke slam and Rollins hits Orton with a RKO to knock him out and crawl out of the ring….

Overall Grade: B+
