TRIU Monday Night RAW Review (11/11/13)

HAPPY VETERANS DAY!!!! (From Manchester, England)

In-Ring Segment #1: We open with ©Randy Orton coming down to the ring. Randy comes to announce with HHH and Stephanie on vacation he is in charge. He is interrupted by Brad Maddox who say he is in charge. Maddox is then interrupted by the DOO Kane… They argue back and forth before Maddox announces that Orton will face © Cody Rhodes and then Kane makes a match with © Golddust. Viki then comes out and announces that Orton will face both the Tag Team Champs to open this week’s RAW!!!....

Match #1 (2 on 1 Handicap Match): © Rhodes Bros. vs. © Randy Orton (Winner: Rhodes Bros by Count Out, Rating: 3.5 of 4): This was a great match that saw Orton get tired and knowing he was in for a loss. So he walks away and is counted out before being attacked by the Big Show. Big Show beats on Orton until he finally puts Randy through the announcers table and celebrates with the crowd….

Match #2 (6 Man Tag Team Match): Los Matadores/Santino vs. The Union Jacks (3MB) (Winner: Los Matadores/Santino via PF, Rating: 3.0 of 4): Another great and quality comedy match. Both teams had their moments, Solid finish seeing Santino give the cobra (with bull horns) to Jinder Mahal to get the pin. Overall great match but when is WWE going to end 3MB or give them a push??...

Match #3 (Singles Match): Damien Sandow vs. Kofi Kingston (Winner: Sandow via PF, Rating: 3.0 of 4): This was a solid but quick match as both superstars traded blows. The finale saw Sandow knock Kingston off the ropes only to hit him with a “Youre Welcome” for the 1,2,3. Overall the match was good but I would have liked to see it go longer than 5-7min…

Match #4 (IC Title Singles Match): Dolph Ziggler vs. © Curtis Axel (Winner: © Axel via PF, Rating: 3.5 of 4): This match saw a lot of ups and downs, both superstars put it all on the line. The crowd was really into it and wanted Ziggler to win. But Axel held tough and got the victory. Overall this match was exciting because there are not many athletes of Ziggler’s caliber on the roster….

Match #5 (Diva’s Match): Tamina w/© AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella w/Brie Bella (Winner: Tamina via PF, Rating: 3.0 of 4): The match ended on AJ interference and saw Tamina hit the top rope splash to get the pin. Brie Bella attacked both Tamina and AJ post match and ran them off. Overall it was a decent match with a sloppy finish, AJ Lee is a solid champ but she needs to drop the belt soon…

Match #6 (Singles Match): Fandango vs. Tyson Kidd (Winner: Fandango via PF, Rating: 3.0 of 4): The match was pretty solid, well wrestled by both guys. Fandango got the victory with a roll up pin, which left Kidd stunned in the ring. Overall it was a good filler match and another solid match between these two. The crowd was into Fandangoing a lot….

Match #7 (2 on 1 Handicap Match): © John Cena vs. Real Americans (Winner: © Cena via Sub, Rating: 3.5 of 4): This match was fast paced from the start and it was a classic Cena match. About half way through the match Del Rio comes to ringside and sits on commentary. Post match the Real Americans beat on Cena then left him for Del Rio to pick apart John before Big E made the save. Overall it was a good match to watch…

Match #8 (Singles Match): Ryback vs. R-Truth (Winner: R-Truth via PF, Rating: 3.0 of 4): Solid match with Ryback being the aggressor through most of the match. The finish saw Ryback slip and Truth take advantage with the quick rollup pin for the win. Overall Truth made Ryback look as good as possible but he still couldn’t make him look great…

Match #9 (Singles Match): Big E Langston vs. Alberto Del Rio (Winner: Del Rio via Sub, Rating: 3.0 of 4): It was a great showing for Big E as he proved he should have gold around his waist by looking good in the ring against one of the top guys. For Del Rio he continues his decline as he has yet another match that the crowd refuses to get into. Overall great match with a classic Del Rio arm bar for the win…

In-Ring Segment #2: Paul Heyman is in ring with © Curtis Axel. Heyman then runs down Ryback after his loss to CM Punk at HIAC. Heyman then runs down the WWE Universe. Heyman then promises that he will be back with vengeance to get revenge on CM Punk, he is then interrupted by Punk. Axel and Punk are fighting outside the ring before Punk hits him with a GTS. CM Punk then turns his attention to Heyman and proceeds to beat him with a kendo stick….

Match #10 (3 on 2 Handicap Match): CM Punk/Daniel Bryan vs. © The Shield (Winner: No
Contest, Rating: 3.5 of 4): This match was a great match that saw no winner as the Wyatt family interrupted. The Shield and Wyatts brawl for a minute before they all turn on Bryan and Punk. They began to jump Bryan and Punk before the rest of the faces in the RAW locker room makes the save. Overall a entertaining tease for the Survivor Series…

Overall Rating (3.5 of 4): This wasn’t the best ever but this was a solidly booked RAW that had effectively 3 main events and we got a IC title match. If the bookers keep booking like this, Survivor Series is going to be great….

Match of the Night: (2 on 1 Handicap Match) © Orton vs. © Rhodes Brothers (3.5 of 4)….
